Melba Olene Hill Cannon, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Bruce Living Center on Sunday, February 4, 2018. Born May 1, 1929, in the Wardwell Community, she was the daughter of the late Olen Hannaford Hill and the late Kathleen White Hill. She was a graduate of Derma High School, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Calhoun City. Ms. Melba married the love of her life, Joe Bob Cannon, and together they had two sons. As her children grew and had families of their own, it was her great joy to have everyone gather as often as possible. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and she looked forward each year to getting everything decorated and cooking for everyone. She was very social and never missed an opportunity to spend time with her friends and family. Ms. Melba loved clothes and loved getting all dressed up. She was graceful and charming in everything she did. She was a true Southern Lady, and she will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.
