Mildred Watford Rabun, 95, passed away peacefully MS State Veterans Nursing Home in Jackson on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Born September 20, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Jim Watford and the late Dora Hooker Watford. She was a retired seamstress from Wells Lamont in Eupora, MS, and a member of Tri-County Baptist Church. At the age of 17, she left South Carolina and traveled out west to South Dakota where she enlisted in the military. She served as a private in the United States Army, and is a veteran of the 2nd World War. She loved cooking, as well as traveling and being outdoors in her garden or spending time with a fishing pole in her hands. A very high spirited and outgoing woman, her memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 11:00am at Providence Cemetery in Choctaw County, MS. There will also be a visitation from 10:00am until service time at the cemetery.
She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Harold Rabun; brothers, Dan Watford, Arthur A. Watford, and Wilford Ivanhoe.
