Life Story for Dottie Sue Harrison

Dottie Sue  Harrison
Grenada---Dottie Sue Doles Harrison, 77, passed away peacefully at Tallahatchie Extended Care Facility in Charleston, MS on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Born April 5, 1941, in Sabougla, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Doles and the late Wilma Lee Doles. She graduated from Big Creek School, and was a member of Gore Springs Baptist Church. She served on the Board of Directors of Farm Bureau, and was also a Board member with ASCS. Dottie Sue and Lee Harrison were married on December 31, 1959, and were blessed with four children. A giving and sharing person, she always helped those in need. She loved helping people in her community. Ms. Dottie Sue was always available to help others, from providing meals to giving people rides to their doctor’s appointments. Among her many hobbies were gardening and riding her bicycle. Her favorite time of the year was Spring, when she could watch the flowers bloom and observe God’s handiwork. Above all, she loved raising and caring for her family. She was proud of her kids and their wonderful families. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ms. Dottie Sue was well known for her caring heart and giving soul. She touched many lives as she was a caring, giving, and wonderful southern lady. She has left a lasting mark on this Earth with her kindness to others and love for her family. She leaves behind many cherished memories for her family and friends to remember for the years to come, and they take comfort in knowing that she is rejoicing in her heavenly home now.
Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held Friday, June 22, 2018, at 2:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation on Friday from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Joey Faulk will be officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Big Creek.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jonathan Harrison, Drew Howard, Wyatt Harrison, Hayes Harrison, Jake Harrison, and Eli Fizer.
She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Lee Harrison; a daughter, Amanda Sue (Donn) Fizer of Birmingham, AL; three sons, David Lee Harrison, Paul Wayne (Crissy) Harrison, and Jeffrey Alan (Casey) Harrison all of Grenada; brother, Thomas Earl Doles of Calhoun City; 13 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Justin Stewart Howard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
