Life Story for Nell Snellings

Nell  Snellings
Calhoun City---Dorothy Nell Snellings, 72, passed away peacefully at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford on Thursday, May 24, 2018. Born March 12, 1946 in Big Creek, she was the daughter of the late Harold Estel Coker and the late Syble Poe Coker. Nell graduated from Calhoun City High School in 1964, and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Nell and her husband, Jerry, were married on February 10, 2001. Anyone that knew her knew she loved to garden and loved her flowers, especially her petunias and her roses. Her family will always remember how she also loved to cook, and that she was a very good one too! Nell loved her family very much, and she will be deeply missed by them. But they find comfort in knowing they will be reunited in Heaven someday. She has left a lifetime of memories that will be cherished forever in their hearts.
Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held Sunday, May 27, 2018, at 2:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home. Bro. Dwight Brown and Bro. Willie Parker will be officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Big Creek.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Snellings, Brent Snellings, Trent Snellings, Steve Ramage, Scotty Jones, and Mark Goodson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Buck Langford, Johnny Langford, Charlie Baker, and Marvis Goodson. She leaves behind her husband, Jerry Snellings of Calhoun City; a son, Johnny Baker of Bruce; a brother, Jimmy (Jan) Coker of Calhoun City; and four sisters, Judy (Tony) Arnold of Elliot, MS, Shirley (Sonny) Keeton of Bruce, Linda (Ronnie) Easley of Calhoun City, and Gloria (Larry) Bramlett of Merrit Island, FL;
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Syble Coker, two brothers, James Edward Coker and Harold Coker; and a grandson, Eric Tyrone Baker.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chapel Hill Cemetery Fund, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
