Calhoun City---Charles Lee Blackwelder, 73, passed away peacefully at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Calhoun City on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Born March 15, 1945 in Bentley, MS, he was the son of the late George Blackwelder and the late Vannie Arrington Blackwelder. He attended Derma High School, and was a member of Bentley Baptist Church. He and Ms. Alice were married in December of 1976. He was deeply committed to his family. There wasn’t a day that went by that him and his son Bom didn’t see each other or at least talk on the phone. He loved to spend time with his family, and loved to cook and feed everybody. On Sunday afternoons, he could be found somewhere watching Nascar. He also loved to fish, and especially loved grabbling down at Grenada lake. Mr. Charles was a hard worker. He spent many years as a Truck Driver and also working for Parker Brothers, and always provided what his family needed. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him, but he leaves a legacy of memories that will live on forever.
Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
