Life Story for Robert Wesley Parker

Robert Wesley Parker
Vardaman---Robert Wesley Parker, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo on Friday, April 27, 2018. Born July 10, 1941 in Vardaman, he was the son of the late Tommy Lee Parker and the late Nora Edington Parker. Robert was a lifelong member and deacon at Mt. Herman Primitive Baptist Church in Vardaman. He also served in the National Guard. He graduated from Derma High School, along with his High School sweetheart, Malline Marshall, in 1959, as the last class of Derma. They were married that same year, and ten years later they were blessed with a son, Davin, their pride and joy. They spent 57 wonderful years together before her passing in 2016. Always known to be a hard worker, Robert was a tireless provider for his family. He retired from Heatcraft in Grenada with over 30 years of service. In his free time, you could find Robert enjoying God’s beautiful outdoors, usually hunting or fishing, or working in his garden. Robert was especially proud of being one of the founding members of the Calhoun County Fox Hunter’s Association. Robert was a devoted husband and father. He was very easy going, and always kind and friendly. He battled many health issues in his time, and overcame most of them. But he was tired. The family is deeply saddened by Robert’s passing, but they find comfort in knowing they will be reunited with him in Heaven someday. He has left a lifetime of memories to be cherished forever by his family and friends.
Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018, at 3:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 1:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Bob Ward will be officiating, with Marlon Long delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Mt. Herman Cemetery in Vardaman.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tony McNair, Shaun Parker, Chris Reifers, James Landreth, Michael Landreth, and John Paul Hyde.
Honorary pallbearers will be Grover Edington, John Ed Carter, George Fred Carter, John Burt, Everette Ramage, Henry Ramage, and Darrell Edington.
He leaves behind a son, Davin Parker and his wife Valerie of Vardaman; two sisters, Lorna Reifers and her husband Charlie, and Donna Parker Ward, both of Vardaman; a brother, Phillip Parker and his wife Teresa of Vardaman; and four grandchildren, Wes (Kasey) Parker, Nora Blake Parker, Haley Parker, and Addie Parker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Malline Parker; his parents, Tommy Lee and Nora Parker, and a sister, Nancy Carol McNair.
