Michael “Smurf” Spears, 51, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Born June 1, 1966 in Vardaman, MS, he was the son of the late Willie P. “Bill” Spears, Jr and the late Rose Tedder Spears Moore. He was a member of New Gauley Freewill Baptist Church, and he was retired after driving a log truck for many years. Smurf‘s big smile and his great sense of humor will always be remembered, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 3:00pm at New Gauley Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Howard Rodgers officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kickstarter and Yankee. Honorary pallbearers will be Lil’Bit, Lookout, JJ, Roaddawg, Toothpick, and Q-Ball.
He leaves behind two sisters, Brenda Spears, and Christie (Everette) Parker, both of Calhoun City; special friend, Angie Tallant of Bruce; two nephews, Caleb Moore of Bruce, and J.R. Parker of Calhoun City; and one niece, Hayley Moore of Bruce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lisa Ann Spears, and his brother, William “Buddy” Moore, Jr.
