Jan Gregg Hutchins, 66, passed away peacefully at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Born January 27, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Willie B. Gregg and the late Clarice Fuggett Gregg. She was a retired educator, and a member of Vardaman First Baptist Church. Ms. Jan taught school for over 26 years before her retirement in 2000. During that time, she touched the lives of an entire generation of students, and gave them knowledge that they used throughout their lives. She also had a green thumb, and loved gardening and working in the yard. She loved growing tomatoes, and grew some of the best around. Ms. Jan also loved to take care of animals, especially her beloved “Girl”, a stray that loved Ms. Jan in return, but not too many other people. She enjoyed cooking for her loved ones, and had a great sense of humor. She loved her family dearly, especially her precious grandkids. A very sweet and kind woman, her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends, but they rejoice that she is with her Father in Heaven.
