Shirley Russell, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. Born December 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Lusk Dickey and the late Mary Shankles Dickey. Shirley was retired from Kellwood.
Pryor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A graveside service honoring her life will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017, at 3:00pm at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Big Creek with Bro. Joe Russell officiating. There will be a visitation will be from 1:00pm until 2:45pm on Thursday at Pryor Funeral Home, after which we will proceed to the cemetery.
She leaves behind her daughters, Katie (Dwight) Devall of Big Creek, and Mary (Kenny) Crutchfield of Calhoun City; two brothers, Bruce (Trish) Dickey of Laurel, MS, and Bill (Joan) Dickey of Big Creek; three sisters, Kathryn Spruill of Calhoun City, Sharon (Dallas) Wilson of Tippo, MS, and Lorene Hillhouse of Gulfport, MS; three grandchildren, Crystal (Steven) Carlson of Big Creek, Cris (Stephanie) Devall of Banner, and Melissa (Keith) Parker of Bruce. Shirley was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Russell, a grandson, Casey Devall, two brothers, Jay Dickey and Ed Dickey, and one sister, Carolyn Hollis.
