Obituary for Ralph Bennie Hutchins

Ralph Bennie  Hutchins
Ralph Hutchins, 94, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. He was born January 21, 1923 in Big Creek, MS; Mr. Ralph was the son of the late Ben M. Hutchins and the late Birdie Litten Hutchins. He was a deacon and a Sunday school teacher at Big Creek Baptist Church and Calhoun City First Baptist Church. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He proudly served in the United States Army, and was a retired farmer and carpenter, as well as a retired rural mail carrier.
Pryor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City.
A funeral service honoring his life will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2:00pm in the Pryor Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Longino and Rev. Jimmy Vance. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brooks Hutchins, Derek Hutchins, Drew Hutchins, Sydney Parker, Royce Anderson, and Griffin Hutchins.
He is survived by his two sons, Mickey (Jan) Hutchins, Big Creek, and Terry (Debbie) Hutchins, Grenada; a sister, Evelyn Fowler, Olive Branch, MS; 4 grandchildren, Derek Hutchins, Calhoun City; Brooks Hutchins, Big Creek; Sara Claire Hutchins, Madison, MS, and Drew Hutchins, Grenada, MS.; 7 great grandchildren, Griffin Hutchins, Royce Anderson, Ivy Hutchins, Kalyn Hutchins, Cole Hutchins, Hensley Anderson, and Jacob Hutchins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Nell Terry Hutchins, his parents, 4 brothers, Wilson, Gene, Frank, and George Hutchins; and a sister, Edna Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MS State Veterans Home, 120 Veterans Dr., Oxford, MS 38655.
